Correcting a Report Generator CONFIG File

Note:  This feature does not apply to the New Report Generator for Windows.

Occasionally the CONFIG file used by the old DOS version of either the Medical Gas Outlet or Electrical Receptacle Analyzer Software can become corrupted or even deleted.  If this happens and your printouts are incorrect or you cannot print at all, you will need to build a new CONFIG file with the settings listed below.  To do this simply follow these instructions:

To change the current codes to the ones that are listed below , call the CONFIG file (located in the GAS or REC directory) into a text editor and replace the codes.  Once the codes have been changed, save the file under its original name of CONFIG.  Do not put any type of extension at the end of the file name (Example: .doc or .exe), this will cause the analyzer software problems in finding the file.  If using a text editor is not possible, change the codes by following the steps listed in below.  If you should have any questions please feel free to contact our service department @ 800.678.7074.

Changing the codes within the Gas or Rec program:

1. Delete the current CONFIG file from the GAS or REC directory.

2. Start the analyzer software and call up the file to be printed.

3. At the PRINT MENU there will be a list of options at the bottom of the screen to examine or change.

4. Go through each option and put in the following codes:

Choice

Setting

P - Printed Report Destination

Where your printer is connected.

M - Report Format (Text or Spreadsheet)

T - for printing reports.

S - Setup Codes

See Below

L - Left Margin

2

N - Number of Lines

60

C - Carriage Return

Enter the codes below into the Setup Codes exactly as they appear:

Be certain to pay attention to the characters.  There are lower case letter L's and the number 1

which can be easily confused.
