It is a good idea to back up the data that you have collected. To do so, follow the
instructions listed below.
1. Insert a floppy disk into either the A or B disk drive.
2. Exit out of the NST Report Generator program.
3. At the C:\GAS> prompt type the following:
4. At the A or B prompt type the following:
NOTE: You will want to change the number of the directory each time you make one so that you do not over write any of the data that may share the same file name. Example: GASDATA2,
GASDATA3...etc., or you can archive by year (1995, 1996...etc.)
5. At the C :\GAS> prompt type the following:
This will copy the data on to the floppy.
6. Check to see that the copy was successful by doing the following:
7. Be sure that there are an equal number of data files in both the C:\GAS directory and the A or B:\GASDATA1 directory.
8. Delete the files from the C:\GAS
directory by doing the following:
a) Type: C: (Hit Enter)
b) Type: del *.dat (Hit Enter)
c) Type: dir (Hit Enter) and be sure that this was successful
9. If you wish to view any of the files that have been archived, copy the file from the archive floppy to the C:\GAS
directory and view it through the NST Report Generator program. To copy a file, type the following at the A or B:\GASDATA1 prompt:
a) Type: copy filename.dat c:\rec (Hit Enter)
b) Type: C: (Hit Enter)
c) Type: dir (Hit Enter) to be sure that the copy was successful
