NST Report Generator™ Software

Note:  This feature does not apply to the New Report Generator for Windows.

If you have recently had your NST Electrical Receptacle Analyzer or Medical Gas Outlet Analyzer calibrated and are experiencing problems with collecting data from the analyzer, viewing or printing a data file, the following are some common symptoms and solutions to correct the problems.

SYMPTOM

PROBLEM

SOLUTION

Blocks Expected greater than 30 blocks (the highest number possible)

Downloading the data using an old version of NST software.

Install and run the new NST software included when the analyzer was calibrated.

Serial number displayed on the computer screen is five digits.

(Normally three digits)

Downloading the data using an old version of NST software

Install and run the new NST software included when the analyzer was calibrated.

Message displayed on the computer screen reads:

Input past end of file in line no line number in module REC6 or G2000  at address 100C:0750

Viewing or Printing new data using an old version of NST software.

Install and run the new NST software included when the analyzer was calibrated.

Message displayed on the computer screen reads:

Input past end of file in line no line number in module REC or GAS  at address 100C:0750

Printing a data file using an old CONFIG file.

Delete the file CONFIG from the REC or GAS directory.  Return to the NST program and try to print again, the program will construct a new CONFIG file.

Message displayed on the computer screen reads:

Subscript out of range in line no line number in module REC6 or G2000  at address 100C:0750

There are too many data files in the current REC or GAS directory to be displayed on the computer screen.

Archive some or all of the older data files onto floppies or into another directory and then delete them from the REC or GAS directory.

You have installed the new version of NST software and are still experiencing problems similar to those listed above.

You are running the NST program through a Windows icon or a preset DOS menu which have not been modified to use the new names of the NST software.

Even though you have installed the new software, chances are you are actually still running the old version.  The path which calls up the program(s) needs to be changed.  The name REC6 needs to be changed to REC or the name G2000 needs to be changed to GAS.

Two simple ways to be sure that you are running the most recent version of the NST software are:

1. The version number of the Report Generator™ software for the Electrical Receptacle Analyzer is 2.1 and for the  Medical Gas Outlet Analyzer it is 5.2.

2. If you have a color computer monitor, the screen is blue with white text.  The old versions are all black with white  text.
