The NST Electrical
Receptacle Analyzer and Medical Gas Outlet Analyzer, along with the Report Generator software used for each, have been thoroughly examined and tested and are now Year 2000 Compliant. We are pleased to inform
all of our current customers who have upgraded their analyzers since June 1, 1996 that they should not experience any problems relating to the change of the century. The NST analyzers and Report Generator
software use a four-digit format for the year portion of the date (ex. 01/01/2000). The date is used as follows:
- The NST analyzer's 'Calibration Due Date' is programmed into the analyzer using a four-digit date format. This date is downloaded verbatim during data transmissions. The analyzers do not display or
use calendar dates in any other way.
- The NST Report Generator software programs REC and GAS use calendar dates, which are displayed and printed in the four digit format, as follows:
The computer system date (e.g., the date programmed into the computer on which the software is running) is used at the time of a data transmission. This date is then displayed on the computer screen while
viewing the saved data and printed on the first and last pages of a survey report.
The computer system date is compared to the 'Calibration Due Date', programmed into the analyzer, at the time of a data
transmission. The software then determines if the analyzer is due for it's annual calibration and displays a message on the computer screen to alert the user.
If you have not had your analyzer updated since June
1, 1996 or are running any version of the Report Generator software other than 2.1 for the Electrical Receptacle Analyzer or 5.2 for the Medical Gas Outlet Analyzer, please call NST at 800.678.7074 to schedule
having your analyzer updated so that it is Y2K Compliant.
